Poor van Nike - forbidden fruit...

other than that, i cant think of any right now...

A few tracks from the new Tieso album:

1. Walking on Clouds (ft. Kirsty Hawkshaw)

This track is just AWESOME. I think if you check it out, you'll detect a hint of Gabriel and Dresden sound. I think that is because this track was co-produced by Josh Gabriel.

2. Love Comes Again (ft. BT on Vox)

(Well, for those who care anything about BT, you'll be very happy to know that he and his lovely girl Ashley are brand new PARENTS. Baby Kaia is only 2 days only, and just gorgeous! Check out www.btnetwork.com for a pic and further info.)

Even though the production on this track is very clean I can't stand the music. The only redemptive quality in this track is the vocals. I wish AnB would do a KILLER uplifting version with more that ONE CHORD!!!! I thought the whole one chord thing was gonna "Die Another Day" with Madonna, oh well. ;)

3. A Tear in the Open

This is a gorgeous (I don't know what language it is... could be Gaelic or some Middle-Eastern dialect) tune with vox by some girl whose name I don't know. With the right remix, this could be the next Ibizan anthem. It really gives me a similar vibe as Chicane's "Saltwater."

As for the rest of the album, if you like downtempo, there are two absolutely brilliant tracks called "Sweet Mysery" (no that's not a typo) and "UR." Everyone has heard "Traffic," "Nyana," and "Adagio for Strings."

I do have to say that poor Samuel Barber was turning over in his grave the day that ATB remixed "Adagio for Strings" and it needed to be left alone after that. Ferry did a nice job, but it's still ridiculous to turn an orchestral piece written in 3/4 into a club track in 4/4. GROSS!!!

Anyway, that's about all for now.

Peace,
Nick

Ohh, it's called Kansai Del Mar? That's quite clever, didn't know that   :P

but Steve -that's not the tune i wanted ID'd a few posts above. Although looking at it, it does sound a bit like it, but it's not :P

de du-do, de du-do   = 1bar

the kick comes in on the de and just after the du.. so i guess you could say on the -.

Does that help?  :D

-Luke

veracocha - carte blanche?

Mayybe... ;)

But I think I might have that tune on an old CD.. and if I do it's not it. It's quite a new track that's been played on TATW a few times.

It's so frustrating my computer died. I can't post up the sample of the riff now :P

I'll try maybe wednesday/thursday before I leave :D

-Luke
PS thanx to all those ppl for trying anyway :P
PPS No-one On Earth :P

It's not Crush, I just bought crush on CD.. so definately not crush :D

but how ironic is this.. i'm listening to the track again! and i still don't know what it's called!! :o

hmm.. lemme look at the TATW playlist and I might be able to figure it out.... the main problem is it's in the middle of a bloody guest mix, so they're not giving names! ...oh.. the song following.. I think I might know this! then I can see on the playlist! :o...

...5 minutes later...

damn! there's a bug on the playlists.. I need to inform admin of this ;)

....ah, i've figured out how to finally get to TATW1 playlist!

...4 seconds later...

OF COURSE!!! IT'S ROBERT NICKSON - SPIRAL!!
Dammit Robert! Why couldn't you have seen my post!?! :(

But I do feel kinda stupid... I was listening to it the other day knowing what it was but I musta not realized it was the same song as in this thread
I was going through the playlist saying "please don't be Spiral, please don't be Spiral..." then it was. but that's okay, now I know :D

-Luke

PS sorry to waste your time reading all that.. if you even did
