Sir? There are 4 toothpicks left in the box.

I'm with Audioholic though. Most of the kick seems to be defined by what (isn't) around it.
That said, take an ordinary kick. Run it through a plate reverb with the room size turned up to maximum, the early reflections turned up all the way, the early reflection type set to random, and the decay time turned all the way down. Pure industrial noise!
Definitely not appropriate for trance though.

i think that kick is sampled from miami 2 ibiza. It has a nice low end, but also that ugly sound on top, cause of that synth playing in the same time as the kick in that track(there's no clean kick sample in that track).
Anyway I think you can get a nice kick out of it. Just highcut it around 500-600hz and layer it with some nice click on top.

You could have a kick that sounds superb in one track that sounds rubbish in another.
Unless you're making the same track over and over again that is.

not true, kick is important part for someone signature style, take cosmic gate as an example, they have always small varation of the same kick and nic chagall in his solo work also use almost always one kick ( both of them u can find in VEH3 Kicks )
and for everyone, you can sample 2 nice kicks from this tracks
schossow, 0:26 s perfectly clean, you can even sample the clap
and
beginning
im a kick fanboy, as its my favourite part of music

Dont know much about kyau n albert, nor CG as they are now (listened to alot of their older stuff (firewire for example
Anyhow. SHM sounds quite the same to me with every track they produce, signature style mainly comes from using the same sounds etc. I guess if theyd go for a completely different kick they'd have to change their tracks according to that kick as well.
With that said Bluffmunkey has a point, and since vec librarys mainly are sample rips from released tracks it would make no sense at all to sample a good sounding kick from a track yourself. I bet you will end up the same way as using some vec kick, wondering why it sounds good in the track you ripped it from, but sounding nothing like it in your own track.

ripped kicks never fit in my tracks, dont know how for others, tbh i barely can find kicks that fits and its °ing annoying, its quite hard. i respect arty cause he has always different kicks and they always fit so °ing well

In the Progresia & Nifra song and there's a ring at like 270-300hz that I dont like. Sure i can eq and edit the waveform as well, but its a pain. I have this collection of kicks that I spent longgggg hours to crop and use wave editors to redraw, but honestly i never use them. I'd rather just start from a samplebank.
