Saving VST presets Is this really necessary?

I was wondering if this was really necessary, and if these non-saved presets will be save in the DAW's file? I have never had the need to save my presets, but what would the advantage to doing that be, other than being able to use the same preset in another file or DAW? I know FL Studio DOES infact save the presets, but I can't find any documentation on how it does this.

Pretty much answered your own question there :)

Saving patches is handy when wanting to use it again in another project, otherwise I just let the DAW save the current settings with the project file. Would be a pain in the ass if we had to reload individual plugins settings everytime we re-opened a project again.

Solutions:
1/ Produce on track per day
2/ Keep computer awake for months, until the project is finished (And pray god the DAW won't crash)
:P
