Little dilema, please help

If U had just few bucks like me. Would you:
A) Upgrade O-Zone to the lamer edition of 5 version. (I teally miss that soft knee in version 4 :/.)
B) Buy (seconhanded) VintageWarmer, becouse it does miracles on pretty much anything includin master bus.
EDIT C) Glue?

That's what I'm considering now. I need some warmness. VW is amazing, but on the other side sometimes too much and simple Ferric by VOS does the trick more gently. On the other side VW do miracles on master, some tracks could benefit from that beautifully.

Or you would screw it all and stay with O-Zone v4 and freeware saturators?

PS: If iZotope doesn't allow edu discounts, it's almost solved, but anyway. What would you choose?

Have you asked on Gearslutz? :P.

I don't think either are strictly necessary. Keep saving up and get a TLA Fat Track on Ebay :msn-wink:

Guys pleas stop trolling, I didn't. But have read discussions, KVR reviews and demoed it.
I don't like what it does to reverbs when used on master. But on individual trakcs it's killer.

Ok, another to count. Glue. Would you rather glue oe VW? (For trakcs, some bussing, sometimes slight master peak handling.)

I know I ask a lot, but I need to get most multipurpose plugs as I can't buy milions of them. :/

How is your monitoring setup ?

I would save your coin and put it towards a better set of monitors or treating your room down the track.

You could have all the best plugins and hardware in the world, but they are pretty useless unless you can accurately hear what is going on...

But anyway that just my opinion, so to answer your question.

A) Upgrade O-Zone to the lamer edition of 5 version. (I teally miss that soft knee in version 4 :/.)

Whats the point unless you have a stack of cash to throw away, 4 works fine, I doubt you would gain much 'Warmth' by upgrading to 5.

B) Buy (seconhanded) VintageWarmer, because it does miracles on pretty much anything including master bus.

If you really feel inclined to spend some money, this would be my choice. However every DAW I can think of, comes pre packaged with a decent saturation effect.

VW is best used sparingly, I think a subtle effect is better in most cases.

EDIT C) Glue?

I don't have or use 'The Glue', but I did demo it against a few compressors when it first came out. I didn't mind it. Sounds pretty good. But I think you could get similar results with what you already have.

Remember there are plenty of ways of adding 'Warmth'. Clever EQ, saturation, Filtering and Synth programming can all go a long way, in the search for Moar Warmth !!!!!!! :msn-wink:

Thanks. Tapco S5 will do for a while as monitoring btw. :)

I think I said it wrong. I could not use just more warmnes, also bit more transparent limiting, where O-zone upgrade could help.

Thing is that my only compressor so far was abletons default, which is cool, but i thought about getting something better for some extra jobs. Then it all get totally complicated as I demoed so much good stuff and have just a few bucks. :D

Gunna test PSP mix pack. If is it as good as they say, may be this could be good thingy to trade on KVR. :)

Or stick with what I have anyway. :) Its not that I couldn't do some nice sound, it's just natural desire to make it even better. :)

Ok cool.

Well I'll throw another suggestion in then. I assume your a student as you spoke about EDU discount.

Grab DMG Audio Equality and Compassion... It's very affordable and sounds awesome !

Awesome Eq and Compressor.

Compassion is a jack of all trades, when it comes to dynamics.

I guess the point I was trying to make in my earlier post, was don't fall into the trap of always wanting to upgrade/buy more plugins. Improving your production skills and Ear will be much more beneficial then any plugin... no matter what it is.

Get to know Ableton's saturator and amp simulators. And if you still want some plug-in tube and transformer modelling, try Sir Elliot's free preamps.

These look nice! I was loving Ferric do far although it's sometimes too subtle.

I wasn't trolling.

I really think you should save up and buy a fat track. I don't think any plugin can really add warmness in the way that outboard can, although it may give a subtle impression of something if you know what you're doing.
