I read somewhere that it can be used on the Bassline to convert it in Mono sound, but someone can explain me how does it works? :D

I think it has some (pretty good) frequency splitter. It leaves signal above the splitting frequency untouched and it sumes up signal below to make it mono.

So, if U set frequency to 20kHz (if that's possible, can't remember now), then yes, it can convert whole sound to mono, but you can do it with any utility plugin, even the one in your DAW. :) (I believe some DAW's have mono buton even on mixer consoles initialy.)

Edit: Oooor it could filter low end from Side signal. Same effect really.

This italian guy makes a pretty good one too, but I haven't tried it yet http://www.sknote.it/CutterTone.htm always cool to find out about italian plugin makers, they got quite artistic history behind them those italians so it must be good . emailed him and he's really really friendly guy

Just conjecture, but likely it acts like a mid/side EQ. The frequency knob would set the EQ frequency for a low shelf on the sides signal, and the width knob would adjust the shelf level.

and im sure there also alternatives to it.

On that note, have someone of you tried to make your own frequency spliter? How they to it in such a plugins that it sounds same with or without splitter active? (there or in any multiband compressor) No metter what filters I use, analog, digital, butterworth, chebbyshev, it always cripples the sound a bit. Someone any idea what I do wrong?

quite easy with ableton audio effect rack - thats why i love Live - the RACKS

Audiorack 3 chains and in every individually dchain a multiband compressor. u can add for the lowband an utility and set the width to 0%
then u can select on every chain 1 of try bands :)

Oook, but that's actually using splitter inside of that multiband compressor, ain't it? It's cool, I'm gonna try it, but it doesn't feed the couriousnes. What bloody filters they use inside that multibands? :D

My idea was using rack too, but use dedicated filters with synchronised frequencies on macros for every band(=chain). But somehow this does't work.

explain ur idea more pls
ok ill try 3 chains on on every an autofilter right?! and this maped and synced :)
yh sounds similar to the multiband method.

btw i have no idea what bloody filters are in there  maybe good question for the ableton manual ...

ok here is the adg for the splitter i meant

http://www.mediafire...xzptjk2lgueodmi

i was to lazy to map all the frequency stuff.

Well my idea was pretty much the same, but for frequency isolation of the bands I didn't use multiband compressors, but auto filters, filters in EQ, lot of other types of filters.... Nothing worked properly.
Well as I think about it, may be those cross-over frequencies need some offset to work right that is solved already in the multiband compressor.
