Hi guys! I've been messing around in sylenth for an hour and a half and I can't seem to get this bass just right. The bass I'm trying to create comes in at 27 seconds on this track: No In Between (Duderstadt Progressive Dub Mix)

I'm still very new to sound design so I realize this is probably very easy to make; hopefully this can be a learning experience! :walkman:

Thanks!

Distorted saw with high res (possibly band passed) layered over a sub (which is also a little distorted)

ok hmm the sub bass is not a problem but the this gritty top is a problem - the distortion which is ussed feels so grounded.
any iadeas which distortion plugin could work mr hade?!
BP was a great tip :)
maybe ohmicide could do the trick?!

ill keep trying!

ok thats what i tried here:

i think bluffmunkeys tip where pretty good!
i think a moggish filter could do better in terms of the sharp saw sound on top :)

besides the other elements are pretty muddy cos i not focused on them.

cheers ;)

ahh i used 1 instance of operator to get the bassline

1 Sqaure for the body/ sub and 2 for the top.
normally operator is a FM synth but u can use it also as subtractive synth when u looki into the chains under the volume section.
then a bit distortion and it works good.
ahh also a pitch env i think could make a smashing attack i think.

If you are talking about the main sequence, its just a saw + square, some noise if you want it a bit edgy, and resonance. Pitch LFO on the last note, so don't mind that, just playing.
