@Klaaner I think something is wrong with attack (weird "clicks" in delay) on compression or just you should push down a bit threshold :msn-wink:

Anyway this thread inspired me to make this:

indeed, thanks, i couldnt notice on my shitty speakers

but if i turn down the treshold its losing its clickyness :/

Very nice pluck, although it has like a $1000 worth of plug-ins on it ;-)

This could turn into a good "pluck exercise" thread, i.e people posting their pluck clips... I'll post mine later.

For the sake of common improvement OP should give more info on how to do it...

Of course its his work and he doesnt really have to give it away like candy... but a tad of more info doesnt hurt...

Ok, so i think there is still something wrong with that pluck and I need your help (my speakers are really shit and i just cant hear properly), lets connect our forces to create perfect pluck as we are not rivals anyway :)

the numbers show the correct order of fx, and the channel fader is reduced to 40%

here is the sylneth patch

http://www6.zippysha...18490/file.html

here is the midi file

http://www35.zippysh...31426/file.html

I want you to fix this pluck as possible but keep the loudness, clickyness, add delays etc ... i probably °ed something with compression

There is Waves L2 on master with preset Hot and Crunchy and its has 100% send to send 2 where is Waves Rverb (modified preset Churches - Cathedral with predelay 80, decay 8 s diff 100%, size 80 )

Lets get rid of shit plucks and rock it as its probably the most universal and pleasant sound for edm listeners !

Good Luck xD

yeah but i dont know if it should be sub bass instead of that note or just put sub bass anyway although there is low note :)

well i've been doing the sub bass separately... for at least 3 or 4 years... and never °ing thought of using a 4th lower note instead...

i think it gives it a lot of extra mojo!!! It's amazing!!

if you cut everything below 120 - 150 hz with an eq at the final stage of the track it should not conflict with the sub bass... so dont worry its cool!!!

:D

thanks again!! seriously i learnt something today... as silly as it might have sounded :D

or you can just double the patch, double the insert channel and put the just the lowest note in mono with litlle more sub bassy tweaks :)

Can you enable downloads for your soundclould clip so that it can be loaded into a DAW for side-by-side comparison? That would make the "improvement" process easier...

keep in mind that he has pads in the track at the same time. the pads are much louder than the pluck. this will cover some frequencies and make the pluck sound better.

also arty's doesn't sound like it has any bottom end whatsoever. you put a sub on yours. arty lets the pads fill that part of the frequency spectrum.

Lower Threshold to 36.2, raise Release to 200, both on first Compressor... problem (almost) solved .

Tytan,

Apologies - I meant Klaaner's needed a little delay, yours has clearly got some!

How did you get that sound btw?

Cheers

FYI, when fruity loops says you are using 15% of your CPU it is not actually indicative of what percentage of your total CPU you are using. For more info:
