I just came across this program.

It allows you to run under windows a mac OS and the other way around.

This means that windows users can now use logic or mac users for example cubase or what other combinations possible.

Performance wise i read that it is very good if you have a decent computer and this program is legal after some searching around, so i thought i'd share it here.

Imagine the possibilities open us.. ) :clapping:

Might be worth a try.. :w00t:

In mac we've got bootcamp which runs windows natively.... it allows you to choose which OS to boot... at the moment i've got WInXP and OS 10.6.7 installed... and tbh i never use windows...

mac has it all...

plus we've got another option called Parallels which allows you to virtualize (I suppose it works in the same way as the program you present) windows too... so if i ever happen to need to do quick stuff on windows (like word, excell etc.. which i dont want to install on OS) i can just launch it and close it after im done....

one word...

virtualization consumes a lot of resources.... youre running 2 OS's at the same time, so you're gonna need a very powerful machine if you want to use the virtual OS as a DAW.

cheers.

I installed OSX on my PC with VM ware but I never found how to share folders between virtual machines...
The best way would be to get an old PC and to install a Hackintosh on it IMO

I started using Virtial Box six months ago. I had Linux running VirtualBox with Windows in it. My Ableton was only able to hold 6 channels and after that it dies - starts clipping, the CPU is at 100% and the lag is so much that is absolutely impossible to work. To be honest I had Nexus2 in one of those channels so this also helped a little bit. But then I got my old Macbook Pro and finished what I had started - my song has now 28 channels. I will post it here in about a week for you guys to listen and criticise :))

Correct. VM's are great, but nothing beats running an OS natively. Its complicated to explain, but Pineda essentially nailed it (drawbacks of using VM's). I'd avoid them for music production, and anything which demands high performance (using a lot of CPU power).

For anything else ---> its an awesome program to have :)
