Kick with...what?

What's up, guys
Just wondering the following:
Noticed that many producers, say, Maor Levi, layers kick with some kind of hi-hats or crash. The question is: is it right? Or is it any other technique?
Take, for instance, this:

I've never heard any kick which would be layered with a hi-hat or crash? :blink:
