Well matt I'm sure you understand that what guetta has done (not alone of course but he's the main reason) to the EDM scene isn't something people on this forum would like, and as this is an internet forum people are bound to say what they think without much hesitation or holding back ;) And personally I think of this as a well-done joke, there are similar videos I imagine about pretty much every artist as famous as guetta and I'd say this isnt from the worst end :D

The we hate Guetta track is unnecessary. He won't respond to it and will end up doing more shows than ever making more $$$ than ever. That's the irony of it all. Embrace or ignore

I'm not a fan of Guetta, but this video is just sad..

There are better reasons to dislike David Guetta and of course his music is main reason we'll know why we dislike him. But I think there's a more elaborate reason than him sucking more than a bucket of clams or waving his hands all night. I thought the video was pretty funny even though immature. Reminds me of Saturday Night Live humor from Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island! "Hate" is an emotionally charged word ;)

David Guetta's music supports a mind decaying message that has its foundations in a contemporary view of "cool." I liked his new collaboration with Afrojack (I also despise a lot of the latter's music..) and his track "Love Is Gone" though! But across the board.. Guetta puts forth an antiprogressive philosophy in his culmulative track record. Songs like "Sexy Bitch" or a record label named "F*** Me I'm Famous" are empirical accounts of this for Guetta. Unless he admitted that he does it for the money or somewhere in the future he renounced his works that I mentioned earlier then I would obviously reconsider my perception of him. But for now Guetta is as beneficial to society and the individual as the show "Jersey Shore." Although it is "in the eye of the beholder" someone can please explain their view to me how someone should be enlightened by the image he represents. The definition of "enlightened" I am using is a beneficial and lasting contribution to the self and the community based on the messages of a musical artist/performer in this case. But just to note I find in myself that I don't speak this way out of envy. It's more like I'm disappointed that he got this big because it reflects the opinion of the majority. They got him to where he's at and I think it's fair to say, in a Marxist fashion, that the majority's liking to him seems to be forcefed to people from the bourgeoisie. What's popular has really taken a turn. Partying is °ing awesome but it's never been so overglorified! I mean yeah throw a huge party is one thing but to actually sing about it? Partying in the name of partying? In contrast.. I love Above & Beyond's music because it really gets you to reflect and celebrate the emotions of life in a way that you can actually go home and write a short essay (or many pages possibly) about why you were celebrating. Well there's better reasoning, at least, by looking at the message A&B perpetuates.

I know we're not all perfect and I can even contradict myself just a little bit on these issues sometimes but I think moving towards the best possible thing for all of us and the future that holds us all, Guetta is not adding to it enough. What do you think about it all?

In my opinion, his first album was cool. (Eventhough some say he didn't composed the songs.) 4 example I love thisone.

Unfortunately he doesn't do such a songs anymore. Sad his popularity and #1 were brought by sh*t he does in America now... Still can't get off the trumatic shock caused by this Kellis song...

Btw I thing he would ultimately f*ck with authors of the hate song if he played it somewhere.

I don't care if people hate Guetta or love him, in my opinion this kind of stuff is a waste of creative energy. If it was funny then maybe I'd leave it alone, but it's really not Posted Image

It's like the guys who recreate modern Trance tracks and post them on YouTube going "Yeah, look how easy it is to be Armin! Trance is dead!" Well, instead of creating mediocre cover versions of tracks to fuel your anti trance campaign, why not use your production tools to create the Trance that you feel is positive for the scene?

If you've got some talent and a DAW make a positive use of it, not waste it one some crappy hate song Posted Image

I wonder how many people actually buy this song off of iTunes to show that they hate David Guetta. Seems to be a good money making scheme.

maybe i should make a 'trance 2.0' hate song, promote it on these forums, and laugh all the way to the bank?

speaking as the guy who made this, im suprised that something i did for my own amusement in about 10 mins with a sample cd and a bit of autotune had such an effect. anyway, i dont write dance music, i do heavier stuff and i do quite alright thanks. i think once it got to 70,000 views and daft punk linked on their blog i believe mr guettas management had a word and we had to shut down as he has no sense of humour. so there you have it.
carry on

The guy has made dance music massive around the world, and is doing what he loves.
Not that we need to like his music, or him, but please treat him with respect, like everyone else here.

This^ :clapping:

I can't underline enough how badly such immature behavior reflects back on the dance music community. Let's be adults!
