check out some recordings of the night http://forum.anjunab...us-oxide-track/

I think the Genix track is called "Sun City".
If my memory serves me, we also had a bit of Mark Knight and Testosterone "beautiful world" between ferry and sun & moon.

I'm so glad you pointed out Better days! - what are your thoughts on this? I'm deeply in love..

Would have loved to be there, but that track list looks pretty boring sheesh. Emery's looked way better.

Think I will be giving A&B a wide birth at SW4. Hopefully a longer set duration at Amnesia in September will be more interesting...

You've suddenly turned into Progrez without realising it. :P

No doubt you'll be wheeling your zimmer frame around the drum "n" bass tent all afternoon.

Myself and Progrez are in fact one and the same. Look out for several fawning posts from him in support of TCL ((Mature Cheddar 2011 Club Mix) & Sun & Moon

In all seriousness my old friend the DnB tent is on a Sunday so it's looking like Super8 & Tab, Mr Digweed followed by Underworld :)

I heard they played a mash-up of Norin & Rad - The Gift and Breaking Ties. Heard it was confirmed from a friend who went, anyone have videos of this? Would be much appreciated!

Ouch that's a mediocre-sounding set, where's the variety and the journey through different speeds and feelings? I haven't seen Above & Beyond play before but I remember seeing their tracklists from years ago and they started off all groovey, fun and playful but then weaved through various different styles ending in a massive explosion of euphoria. Sets like the one quoted above just sound like they plod on and on and don't really finish at a peak or feel like any sort of journey through music. Man I used to think these guys were the best at what they did but now times are changing I'm starting to feel bad that when I do eventually get to see them, it might not be what I've been dreaming of it being like for the past four years...

Couldnt have said it better myself. I understand its a festival so there are certain tracks to play and certain ones to leave out, but this set is just a rehash of a bunch of boring tracks from the year. A disappointing set for something as massive as global.

I agree it's not the best tracklist in the world but they only had 90 minutes. You can't go on a 'musical journey' in such a short space of time. It's a festival.. they'd be better judged on a 3/4 hour set in a club.

considering they were headlining that tent and it was even named after their new album, they REALLY should have had a longer set. armin got 3 hours in 2009!

Yes, it sounded amazing and I truly loved it as well.

It's all too easy to sit in your armchair and whinge away at what your (totally incorrect) made up idea of what that set might've sounded like.

In the context of the night it was perfect and moved me so much I actually shed a tear.

:)

if it sounded breakbeat-ish then it's probably Laidback Luke's edit, but i wasnt there so idk just a guess

on topic of the set list: rather poor selection, practically the same one as the EDC set from this year

nah it isn't that, just gave that a listen

it begins with a long, very pryda-ish sounding break before the one more time melody begins to come in, it builds up and then drops, sounding quite similar to the original, but with much heavier pads, making it seem a whole lot louder and arty-like. except obviously without arty's trademark beat. i wish i had more technical knowledge so i could explain it better, but that's the best i can do!

EDIT: o hai ut00b
