Sup dudes,
So I thought of this idea a while back but then forgot about it. Anyway, I'd like to get it started again, as I think there are some very talented producers in this forum who may enjoy or benefit from some international digital musical intercourse. :naughty:

Here's how I think this should work --
Anyone open to the idea of collaborating will post in this thread, filling out the information in the form below. After posting, you may browse this thread and PM potential collaborators. When you are not able to or do not wish to start any more collaborations, you will simply come back to this thread and edit your original post.

Copy and paste the form below to get started.

Collaboration Form
DAW(s) used:
Computer Operating System:
Genres/Style:
Years of experience:
Synths owned: (Focus mainly on soft synths, since they are more common.)
Plug-ins owned: (This one is tough. Maybe just stick to your most regularly used ones.)
Sample packs owned: (You don't have to list them all. Just give an idea of your collection.)
<Link to a recent production that you think best exhibits your talents and style>
Any additional notes: (You may wish to list some of your favorite producers or perhaps any official releases you've had in the past.)

Please post your suggestions to make this an easier and a more enjoyable experience. :music:

[Thanks for the pin, mods!]

Hate to be negative but this has been tried a fair few times and always falls through after a few weeks. Good luck though

Thanks. I anticipate that possibility, but I figured it's worth a shot anyway. The way it works now is someone will say they want to collaborate, and then the thread just gets lost in a sea of new threads. If this attempt connects at least 2 producers, then it's not a failure ^_^

Great idea if it works, I'm mobile ATM so will fill the form out when I get the chance

Hey I'd be up to collaborate with someone. I want to make either

1. banging uplifting (136-140bpm)
2. armada dash berlin / shogun style new-school trance

Sample of some random uplifting track I made:

I use Ableton (8.2 ... pretty important I think), Sylenth is my powerhouse synth which seems to be the going tool on this forum :) Let me know if anyone wants to collaborate!

Id be so down to collab with you but i doubt you'd want to with someone like me of less skills :(
i also use FL9, and similar genre style and favorites. i also use nexus, some sylenth1, sytrus, 3xosc, and vengence house 3. experience: 10 months. eh, its worth a shot: you wanna do a collab? lol let me know

Haha your response made me feel warm n fuzzy inside lol. See, I feel like the noobie producer in this forum. Thanks for that tho man. Your whole setup sounds nice except for the fact that you dont have Vengeance clubsounds 2 or 3? if you do let me know, its pretty essential for the awesome bassdrums :)

and I might be down for a collab too, but how bout a demo?

Hey Oliverwarren, I enjoyed that track you posted a lot! I'd be interested in starting an uplift collab with you. The clincher for me is that my main tools are Ableton (8.15) and Sylenth as well

Hey! This sounds interesting. Here's my info:

  • DAW: FL Studio 9.9 beta
  • OS: Windows 7
  • Genre/Style: Mostly uplifting trance, but I've done a little bit of electro/progressive house, progressive/balearic trance, hip-hop, chillout, hands-up/euro BS, happy hardcore and other utter nonsense every now and then.
  • Years of experience: almost 4 years.
  • Synths owned: Sylenth1, Toxic Biohazard
  • Plug-ins owned: Miroslav Philharmonik (piano, occasional orchestral element), Alicia's Keys (piano).I'm almost only a 3xOsc user for synths, though (partially out of utter laziness, as I've compiled a preset bank for myself over the years, and I don't really feel like learning a big synth in and out). AriesVerb, dBlue Glitch, and CMT Bitcrusher are (free) effects I almost always use.
  • Sample packs: VEC1-3, VEE, VEH3
  • Links:

    uplifting:

    house:

You're more than welcome to ask me about any of the other genres, lol.
  • Notes:
    • my producing habits eat CPU
    • I always mix as I go, and sequence at least a 16 bar chorus just to see what it sounds like
    • I tend to copycat other producers for fun
    • I love Andy Blueman from 2009, Porter Robinson, Temple One, and any other uplifting producers who make sick pads that I envy.
    • Releases?: Ernest-kun

I really like this idea for a thread and will put myself on it. I'm not necessarily looking for a collab partner but if someone reads my stuff and feels like they've found a long lost brother then I definitely wouldn't say no to the idea of producing a track together.

DAW(s) used: FL studio 9 (producer)
Computer Operating System: windows 7
Genres/Style: Tech/Progressive house, 124-128bpm mainly
Years of experience: about 12 months
Synths owned: Sylenth1, z3ta+, nexus 2, vanguard, and some demos
Plug-ins owned: Well tbh mainly the ones that come with FL studio. Basslane for monoing basses.
Sample packs owned: Vengeance EH 1,2,3; clubsounds 2,3, minimal house. Dm5 pack and some other tech house packs.

#23 User is offline   Sonicphaze

the only problem with pinning is that after a month it will be jam packed with 60 pages and no one that i know who breaths normal air will sit there looking through 60 pages full of tracks. this sort of thread works only 2-3 weeks at a time so best to just keep creating them to be honest.

Nope, none yet. Don't know why the mods are being so fail at checking/responding to their PMs. Guess I'll keep trying. I'm seeing some good stuff on this thread though. Wish I had a more popular DAW ^_^

I see what you're saying, but tbh, I don't think the 2-3 week version is that effective. Personally, I wouldn't mind sifting through pages of tracks and I think my air is (mostly) normal. Used in conjunction with the DAW data provided, I don't think it would really take that long. That said, do I think this is to be the most effective way to approach this? No, but it's probably the best we're going to get using a forum format imo. We'll see how it all pans out I suppose.
