Demonica - Ambient WIP

This track was well and truly inspired by Owen's latest and greatest.

Sel (Mrs Tehlord) actually wrote the vocal melodies for this one (proud  ).

We're trying to get a Gothic, Nightmare style feel to the track.

Still a long way to go however!

Sounds great man! All the sounds are cool. The vocals sound great and I love the little details. The only constructive feedback I can offer is that it might become a bit too repetitive if you are aming for a longer song, perhaps you could play around a little bit with a filter on the pads, not sure. Anyway great work!

Thankyou kind sir!

I'd agree that it's a bit repetitive right now, although this is more of a concept mix than a real layout.

There's a ton of ideas written down at this stage. I just have to translate them to real sounds somehow ;)

thanks for listening

i enjoyed in especially when it was about to end. the vocals are quite chilling, now to add some dark notes, maybe you are ending up outside of your original vision box, which is never a bad thing. looking foward to hearing this progress!

Serioulsy good stuff - and your wifes voice is damned decent and recorded and mixed to perfection.

I'd enjoy making a film to this.

brilliant mate.

boss sound quality, i love the sound of the hihat, it sounds loose and smooth, if you know what i mean. how did you get it sounding like that? what sample pack do you use?

as for your missus' voice, stunning. really fits the mood.

cant wait to hear the full finished version, well done lord!

Cheers Rich

I plan to make a movie as well, although when and where I have no clue. Feel free, if I ever get it finished....

thanks buddy.

The hat is actually a rimshot out of the Battery 3 library. The key to the sound is probably an odd echo reverb in Artsacoustic that gives a weird slapback feel. Other than that it's just hipassed, slightly boosted at 1khz and leveled up.

Thanks for listening

Ahem, any updates?

Just listening again. I can't believe that is the voice of your missus.

No time atm. I did spend a few hours noodling with some samples over the weekend but nothing really worked the way I wanted so I binned it all. The only thing I've kept is a live played accordion out of Kontakt which I plan to use perhaps just once with a weird pitch bend.

I'll pass on the kind words to mrs tehlord too :)

cheers

Epic!! Loving the atmosphere, but I feel that it doesn't do justice to the name. I was expecting a bit demonic.:P

The track title was inspired by some lyrics/words the misses haz wrote.

They ain't even in yet, but once mangled, and other carefully chosen samples are added i'm hoping it'll do justice to teh title

This is sounding really, really nice. Reminds me of the Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack - worth a listen if you need insparation. Just beware there are two clicks at 0:17 and 0:20.

Good call I'll have a listen to those, thanks :)

The clicks are coming from Alchemy. I've already raised a support thread with Camel over at KVR but it seems I chose the one preset that is known to be faulty on some systems

I'll get them to render me the chords if they can't find a fix

Or if all else fails you could always repair the clicks in an audio editor.
