The title track from their debut artist album, Super8 & Tab’s ‘Empire’ is the latest example of the Finnish duo’s forward-thinking talents and also their second collaboration with vocalist Jan Burton. Charged with the searching, emotion-filled tones of Burton and built on a tight, techie groove, it steadily unravels into a hypnotic vocal anthem through its enchanting, understated melodies and epic arrangement. A future classic, it is sure to satisfy both the main trance floors and those craving a deeper rush.

Following the chart storming success of their recent Above & Beyond collaboration ‘Anphonic’, Kyau & Albert offer another moment of Anjunabeats magic with their cleverly contrasting remix. Beginning with a bumpin’ tribal groove, the German pair lull us in with climbing synths and piano motifs before smashing out a monster riff that is as tough as it is uplifting.

Completing the package Lovetone, aka Anton Sonin, offers a bouncy groove-fuelled tech-house meets electro-house remix that is matchmade for the sunset terraces and Ibiza dancefloors.

Wow, I had such low expactations for the video but.. Reaaally realllyyyyy good one. I love the colours (!), what's happening, the 'atmosphere' - everything! I'd like to see that one on MTV for sure. And w00t - those Super8 & Tab merchs, are they for real? Would be cool to have that game haha

The girl in the video is gorgeous! :D

Still a bit undecided about the tune though, it might grow on me but i think i prefer the Kyau & Albert mix!

Not really feeling the original, Kyau and Albert mix is pretty epic, that riff they have in it is mega but the most plaudits for me go to the lovetone remake, really feeling that. Proper uplifting, cheery, feel good stuff. Love it.

Cant believe nobody else has really mentioned it in this thread.

Will probs get both the k&a and lovetone remix.

Review: Super8 & Tab – Empire (Single)

Taken from the debut Album, the title track “Empire” strikes all the chords with many trance and progressive house fans, blurring the boundaries between to two.

Essences of their previous works Iru Fushi and Needs To Feel in the percussion and vocal can easily bring back memories thanks to the Original Mix. With Jan Burton back on the vocals, he tells the story of breaking the rules of conformity, unique and thought provoking. The tempo of the track is very slow in comparison to many of their previous works, and much of the melodies are softer.

On the remix we have; Kyau & Albert bring much more of a techno edge to the original, this is a sure-fire hit for those who are really all that into to the mellowness of the Original Mix. Anton Sonin as featured in “Super8 & Tab – Black Is The New Yellow” returns as Lovetone. Bringing with him a house-like vibe, he plays a different feel in his mix.

With a huge amount of potential behind this track, Involved Production/Anjunabeats (Label)/ Ian Gamester managed to find the time to knit together the more than appropriate music video to suit.

For me, the Original Mix wins the package, soon followed by the Kyau & Albert remix. But the best part of all must be (ironically) the music video.
